The Legacy Chair
Like fine wine, a comfy leather chair ripens with age, revealing stories of generations.
It steadfastly claims a space all its own, refusing to budge, defiantly standing its rightful place earned over the years.
It beckons a reader to settle in, open a good book and turn the pages from hard cover to hard cover. Paperbacks are not permitted.
It attracts a pipe smoker to sit beside an open fire and contemplate the remains of the day. There will be more--days, that is, for the chair, not the pipe.
There is only one corner of the home declared to be an honored, timeless nook where more days fold into more years than there are books to read or pipes to smoke.
Generations from now, it will still be where it has always been. For years and years.
